EDNZ 2019 Annual Best Practice Awards

EDNZ is now calling for nominations for the 2019 Annual Best Practice Awards. Below you will find the various categories that will be recognised in 2019.

  • Collaboration with Iwi, business and community
  • Innovation
  • Inward investment
  • Primary research
  • Integrated planning
  • Inclusive growth

To nominate you will need to be a financial member of EDNZ, complete this form, and provide the following information by email to info@economicdevelopment.org.nz:

a) An overview of the initiative (no more than two pages)
b) Detail of the initiative – (no more than three pages)
c) A one pager that details why the initiative is worthy of an award
d) The names of those who will attend the Gala Awards Dinner and be on stage to receive the Award
e) The names of the individuals or organisation who should appear on the Award.
f) Four high resolution images of the initiative.

The deadline for submissions is the 1 August 2019. Please note if you are successful you will be advised in late August, at which time you will be asked to provide a one to two minute video (no more) of the initiative to play in the background as the award is presented.

Distinguished Service Award

This Award is EDNZ’s premier individual award and recognises the contribution of individuals to:

·         the image and practice of economic development

·         research that has advanced the theory or practice of economic development in NZ

·         the advance of EDNZ national or international recognition of the economic development profession within NZ

To nominate an individual for this award please complete this form, provide a 300 word document on why the recipient is considered worthy of the Award and email to infoedanz@gmail.com. along with a high resolution image of the person being nominated. Please note the nominator must be a financial member of EDNZ and that if the nomination is successful you will be asked to provide a one or two minute video (no more) on the nominee to play in the background as the award is presented on the evening of the 1st November.

Honorary Life Membership Award

The panel has the opportunity to recognise the long and dedicated service of a practitioner who is retiring.

The winner will have rendered conspicuous service to the profession. Which includes involvement with EDNZ and its forerunner, contributions to economic development education, promotion of the profession to the wider community, representation of the profession in Government, non-Government, and community bodies or forums and the list goes on.

To nominate an individual for this award please complete this form, and email a high resolution image of the nominated individual along with 300 words on why the recipient is considered worthy of the Award to infoedanz@gmail.com. Please note the nominator must be a financial member of EDNZ.

The Awards will be presented by the Hon Fletcher Tabuteau, during the course of the Gala Awards Dinner on the night of the 1 November 2019 at the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre.
