EDNZ Conference 2018

The Economic Development NZ 2018 Conference will be held on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th October at the Copthorne Hotel and Resort, located on the waterfront in the beautiful Bay of Islands.  The Conference will focus on the need to 'work as one' and in an innovative way if we are to build equity and inclusive growth within New Zealand.
We will also hear from international speakers on the 'new localism' sweeping the globe.  This new locus of power—this new localism—is rapidly emerging to solve the grand challenges characteristic of modern societies: economic competitiveness, social inclusion and opportunity; a renewed public life; the challenge of diversity; and the imperative of environmental sustainability. (Bruce Katz et. al)
The Conference will pose the hard questions including what does inclusive growth and the new localism mean for NZ?
The conference will include
  • high calibre international and domestic speakers, including Bruce Katz of the Brookings Institute
  • the MBIE Gala Awards Dinner,
  • an Economic Development NZ Annual General Meeting for members
  • a welcome reception
  • breakout sessions that showcase good practice throughout NZ
  • an interactive workshop on topical issues
  • the opportunity to connect with delegates and speakers through the conference calendar
